The title PP DUB stands for “performatively processed dub.” The recording aims to capture the live, performed aspect of dub as a genre. Oscar was interested in exploring “what happens when you apply the techniques of Dub to genres of ambient and electronic music? Starting this project, I was already interested in Modular Synthesis and, having access to a Trident 76 mixing console, thought to apply it to a final Dub: two very different analogue processes combining, the prospect of splitting out all the channels of a track in Logic Pro to the Trident 76 and pressing a record.”
