My main objective was to create a piece that explored the harmonic series. My research commenced by attempting to understand the way the harmonic series effects music. I am pleased with the result. The unusual combination of violin, modular synthesis and harmonics, as a compositional guide, worked well. I particularly enjoyed this practical process as it was an area I had not explored before. The process of ‘just doing’ and experimenting had a positive effect and allowed me to produce something unexpected.
