This project explores the songwriting techniques of the American alternative metal band, the Deftones. In this track, Leon goes back to the band’s roots and looks “at their biggest single from their first album, ‘My Own Summer (Shove It)’ for the inspiration for the verses and pre-choruses. The verses have a punk feel, as on top of the riff, the vocals play a less melodic role, and feel more spoken.
