Intrusion

Sofia Naughton-Rumbo

The widespread issue of surveillance and lack of privacy in our lives is explored within this photography project. Intrusion uses found imagery from Google Street View as its foundation, focusing on rural areas in less developed countries to help portray the globality of this issue. By manipulating the subjects in the images with the use of digital illustrations, it highlights the lack of privacy in such a surveilled society. Stemming from a personal feeling of always feeling watched living in a small community, this project opens up for the wider discussion surrounding how much of our private lives are not so private.
