The current deadline for applications to the British Council's UK-China PhD Placement Programme has been extended to 12.00pm on 30th September.

The programme aims to cultivate highly trained researchers with international experience who are able to contribute to innovative research and participate in international networks.

Applications are invited for UK doctoral researchers to spend between three and twelve months at higher education institutions in China. The areas of research that may be sponsored include:

• Health and life sciences
• Food and water security
• Environmental technologies
• Energy
• Urbanisation
• Education and creative economy for economic development and social welfare

Placements must begin between January and December 2017.
