The Month Ahead: September/October 2016
Doctoral School welcome event for new doctoral researchers
The Doctoral School invites all new researchers to join us at our Welcome Event on Wednesday 28th September, 15:00 - 17:00 in the Terrace Room of the Conference Centre in Bramber House (3rd Floor).
There will be an exhibition of stands providing information and guidance on the support and opportunities available to you, as you adapt to life as a doctoral researcher. The event will open with a welcome from Professor George Kemenes (Director of Doctoral Studies), and you will have the chance to:
- Meet key staff supporting the research community, and discover the activities, opportunities and support available for doctoral researchers
- Collect your copy of the 2016-17 Researcher Development Programme brochure
- Enjoy some refreshments, and get to know other new researchers from across the University
The welcome event will be followed by a social event for research students, organised jointly between the University of Sussex Student's Union (USSU) and the Doctoral School.
From 5pm in Falmer Bar there'll be a buffet and a welcome drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic on offer) for all new research students.
The social will be followed by the Poetry and Pint Night in Room 76.
