Arabic is the official language in many regions that have shaped global events and international policies. There are approximately 300 million Arabic speakers worldwide, and Arabic is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Learning Arabic is an opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of Arabic-speaking countries, including literature, gastronomy and art. Knowledge of Arabic is rare in the UK and can help you stand out in the job market. Your communication skills could help forge valuable relationships with people in different fields in the Middle East.

You will be learning Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), the language of print, formal TV programmes (i.e. news) and education. MSA is used for official communication across the Arab world.

Brighton is a great place to learn Arabic. There are many Arabic restaurants, cafés, shops and cultural events where you can practise your language skills and meet new people.
