SoCoBio - South Coast Bioscences DTP
Welcome to the South Coast Biosciences DTP (SoCoBio) at the University of Sussex.
SoCoBio is a Doctoral Training Partnership lead by the University of Southampton partnered with the University of Portsmouth, University of Kent, University of Sussex and NIAB EMR. It is funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) part of UKRI (UK Research and Innovation).
As a SoCoBio researcher, your training programme will include:
- Two lab rotations with different supervisors (1st year)
- Data Management training (1st year)
- Business and Entrepreneurship summer school (1st year)
- Industrial Biotechnology summer school (2nd year)
- Science Communication summer school (3rd year)
- A three-month placement outside academia (“PIPS”)
- Opportunities to present your research at an annual conference
