QIST - Quantum Information Science and Technologies DTP

Welcome to the QIST DTP at Sussex!

The University of Sussex, in partnership with the University of Bristol, has launched the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantum Information Science and Technologies (QIST) funded via the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). 

This programme provides unique cross-disciplinary trainingin experimental and theoretical quantum information and quantum technologies, and specialised training in entrepreneurship, project management, collaborative working, responsible research and innovation (RRI), science policy, and communication skills.

As a Sussex QIST PGR you have access to:

  • A scholarship covering fees and a living allowance for 4 years (full-time)
  • An individual budget for research and training costs (conferences, participant costs, fieldwork, consumables)
  • A new Master Class, "Microwave Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing"
  • Year one training in critical skills for microwave trapped-ion quantum computing
  • Financial support for academic and industrial secondments
  • Opportunity and funding to attend national and international conferences
  • Funding to enable you to attend training with the QIST PGRs at Bristol, or elsewhere
  • Access to taught modules and state-of-the-art facilities at Sussex and Bristol
