British Meiosis Meeting 2018 (BMM2018)

Thur-Fri 24th-25th May 2018 Jurys Inn Hotel and Conference Suite, Brighton UK.

The 2018 British Meiosis Meeting, organised by Dr Matt Neale (Genome Damage and Stability Centre, University of Sussex), aims to gather UK researchers with interests in meiosis, with an emphasis on presentations by postdocs and students and informal discussions between the talks.

The meeting will cover all aspects of meiosis, ranging from research into the molecular mechanisms that promote pairing, recombination and chromosome segregation in model organisms to how these events impact on human fertility and crop breeding.

This two-day event will provide an excellent forum for PhD students and Postdocs to present their research as an oral and/or poster presentation. Oral presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts. Students and Postdocs are encouraged to apply!

This year, the keynote speakers are world-class scientists Prof Eva Hoffman (Novo Nordisk Foundation Young Investigator, Centre for Chromosome Biology, University of Copenhagen) and Prof Scott Keeney (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA). Their attendance at the meeting is supported by an award from the Biochemical Society. Discounted registration costs have been made possible by generous support from the Genetics Society and the Company of Biologists. BMM2018 is additionally sponsored by: New England Biolabs, Sarstedt, and LabTech.
