This module gives you a solid foundation in statistical analysis principles, crucial for making data-driven decisions in digital and technology solutions. It will prepare you to face industry challenges, emphasising the importance of data-driven decision-making in today’s digital world.
You will learn how to summarise data numerically, test hypotheses and analyse relationships between variables. By using digital tools and statistical methods, you’ll be able to interpret data from business, industry, and national and international perspectives.
We will focus on practical applications, applying tools such as Excel and Stata for statistical analysis, and real-world scenarios in digital and technology environments. By using data from Bloomberg and other sources, you will learn to contextualise global macroeconomic and financial/industry events, helping you make informed decisions.
You’ll build the confidence to tackle industry challenges, highlighting the critical role of data-driven decision-making in today’s digital landscape.<

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 50 hours of work. This breaks down into about 28 hours of contact time and about 22 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
