Applied Economics and Finance Project (L1094)

Spring teaching
This module gives you an opportunity to do a small empirical project in the field of economics or finance. This will allow you to put into practice some of the ideas and quantitative techniques learned on previous modules.
You will:
- choose from one of the project titles offered (with some scope to choose yout own title, with approval)
- survey relevant literature, collect data
- apply appropriate statistical or econometrics methods to obtain results and interpret them.
You will be assigned a supervisor to guide you through the project.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 3 hours of contact time and about 147 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2025/26.
