15 credits, Level 3 (sub-degree)

Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll explore inequality, violence and protest as forms of disorder from legal, political and sociological perspectives. You’ll examine how social problems are understood, addressed and how social change happens. This module builds on ‘Order and Disorder A’, which is a prerequisite.

You’ll be challenged to question your assumptions about the social world and tackle complex social scientific problems. Key topics include:

  • core legal, political and sociological concepts
  • the institutions that govern the social world.

You’ll also develop key academic skills such as analysing texts, critical thinking and building coherent arguments.
