15 credits, Level 3 (sub-degree)
Autumn teaching
On this module, you’ll explore ways of understanding the changing world through the perspectives of anthropology, geography, international development and international relations. You’ll also examine how these disciplines interact and complement each other within the social sciences.
You’ll focus on identity, exploring:
- how class, gender, ethnicity, and other factors shape our sense of self
- how wider social forces influence personal and collective identities
- the unique and overlapping approaches of the global disciplines to studying identity and intersectionality.
This module provides an interdisciplinary foundation for understanding global issues and identities.
