Spring teaching
This module addresses aspects of public international law in events that are taking place globally.
Through an analytical and critical lens, you'll examine the relevance of public international law in events such as:
- the conflict in Syria
- the targeted killing of individuals in Syria and Salisbury
- legal controversies regarding the Global Migration Compact
- the principle of self-determination in the Chagos Islands
- the policies of the Trump Administration in the US.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 21 hours of contact time and about 129 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
