On this module, you’ll study a range of substantive criminal offences through detailed analysis of relevant statutes and case law.
You’ll focus on:
- how substantive legal rules are applied
- problem questions to explore the operation of each offence
- the clarity and definition of offences, including elements open to competing interpretations

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 27 hours of contact time and about 123 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
