Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll explore a range of contemporary practices in directing and composing performance. You’ll study productions, directors, theatre-makers and choreographers to deepen both your historical knowledge and creative performance skills.

Key skills covered include:

  • techniques for directing, devising, and creating performance
  • critical analysis of performances and practices
  • understanding the histories of directing and composition.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 53 hours of contact time and about 247 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
