Services
Our school has a forward thinking and collaborative approach to research and values knowledge exchange activities as part of our goal to create wider impact. With the support of central university services, the School of Psychology encourages these activities linking our expertise to the world, locally and globally.
Our expertise has already made a difference in many projects. We can support your organisation’s goals by tailoring our advice to your needs. We work with businesses, public sector, charities, community groups.
How you can work with academic staff
Some of the ways you can work with us include:
- contract research: used when an organisation’s in-house capabilities need to be supplemented by specialist expertise that academics can provide. The organisation commissions the University to undertake the research on its behalf.
- professional consultancy services: expert advice in a particular field, involving academics sharing their knowledge with organisations in all sectors.
- workshops, training programmes (including CPD): enable the acquisition of specific skills and knowledge (e.g. to improve employee performance).
- funding licenses for our technologies: allows an organisation to get the right to use, to make or commercialise the technologies and other research outputs covered by Intellectual property (IP) generated by Sussex.
- finance new companies: opportunity for investors to support companies formed to develop and commercialise technology and intellectual property generated at Sussex as outputs of academic research.
- Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTPs) and Accelerated Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (AKT): a competitive bid is required. If successful, the project could be funded by a grant from Innovate UK or other government co-funders.
