Geography trips
One of the best aspects of a Geography degree at Sussex is the second-year field trip, which lasts up to two weeks during the Easter break.
We’ve got one of the most exciting and unique field trip programs out of any UK university. You can choose from a range destinations, each linked to the research areas of the academics leading the trips. Recent trips have taken us to places such as California, Vietnam, Thailand, Morocco, the Seychelles, China, Dubai, southern India and Egypt.
Trip highlights
Taking the learning process out of the lecture theatre and into the field not only provides you with essential practical experience of witnessing first-hand the interaction of people and landscape on a range of scales, but it also helps to develop your skills in teamwork and independent thought. The trips also give you the opportunity to see some of the ideas and theories from your lectures put into practice.
