Teaching
Our MA in Intellectual History builds on Sussex's long tradition of innovation and expertise in intellectual history.
Students on the MA explore some of the major transformations and discourse in intellectual life since 1500, with the possibility of focusing on:
- the history of political ideas
- ideas of war and empire
- women and the political
- Chinese intellectual life since the late nineteenth century
- the Enlightenment
Genuinely interdisciplinary in approach, the course examines the interrelations between philosophy, politics, science, religion and literature in Britain, Europe, North America and China.
