Open Press at the University of Sussex

In line with the University of Sussex’s commitment to Open Research, the Library is pleased to offer a variety of ways to publish your research free of charge and fully open access. Our outputs include books, academic journals, toolkits and more.

What do we publish?

We have successfully published open educational resources and textbooks in diverse subject areas, such as psychologyclimate change and education. Our authors have the freedom to create resources tailored to their readership that can be updated and adapted over time. Please see our full catalogue of published works.

Through the Library’s instance of open-source platform OJS, and with the Research and Open Scholarship team’s support, Sussex researchers are enabled to create and maintain journals (such as Excursions), manage the review processes and peer review, and publish open access material in any discipline.
