Questioning the Media: Power and Freedom in "Strange Times"
This is this year's introductory lecture to the module Questioning the Media. In it Dr Malcolm James discusses why and how we question media, why asking open questions about media is important and what politics our questions have. Drawing on the work of Stuart Hall and Roger Silverstone, he concludes that the critical question is not just an injunction to identify power but also to find the conditions for a better world.
