Chemistry taster lecture
Chemistry taster lecture on modern materials
In this taster lecture Dr Barny Greenland will provide an introduction to polymers, explaining their importance, how to control and exploit their different properties for different uses, and how to put that theory into practice in the lab by providing a lab demonstration on how to make nylon - a polyamide. This lecture gives a flavour of our approach to learning on the Chemistry degree at Sussex with Dr Greenland illustrating his talk with examples from his latest research on polymers for drug delivery and green chemistry and synthesis of materials that can respond to their environment.
