Jonathan Harvey Electronic Music Studio

The Jonathan Harvey Electronic Music Studio opened in 2019 and celebrates the legacy of its namesake, who was Professor of Music at Sussex from 1977 until 1993. With its outstanding acoustics, large analogue mixing console, vocal booth, and selection of outboard processing, it is particularly suited for production, mixing and mastering.

The studio houses a flagship Trident 78 console. The console has 32 in-line channels with 64 inputs, eight group channels, six auxes, EQ and inserts on every channel, and switchable Lundahl output transformers.

The studio features an Apple Mac Pro computer, UAD Apollo interfaces and monitoring from ADAM and Genelec. It has outboard dynamics by SSL, Empirical Labs, Drawmer, BuzzAudio and Q2, outboard reverb by Lexicon, DI by API and reamp by Radial. The custom-made vocal booth provides excellent isolation.

This facility is available term-time working days from 0900-1700. Please be mindful that this facility is located in the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA).
