Our aims and values

We’re committed to promoting and cultivating an inclusive and equal culture.

We recognise the invaluable contributions, diverse perspectives and experiences from all members of staff and students to the success of our departments, the school and the University, regardless of personal background.

We can only succeed by fostering an inclusive environment that promotes equality and values diversity. This means creating a workplace, learning space and social setting where everyone’s rights and dignity are respected.

Athena SWAN accreditation

We are proud to hold Bronze Status in the prestigious Athena SWAN Charter mark. It was developed to combat the underrepresentation of women in science, technology, engineering, medicine and mathematics (STEMM) in higher education and research.

Our staff and students

Our students and staff push the boundaries of their fields through new discoveries, and have their achievements recognised with awards and project prizes.
