Welcome to our newsletter for staff to facilitate awareness and support for students.
Health and Wellbeing Support for Students:
It has been identified that international students have not been accessing Change, Grow Live (CGL) and the local Sexual Health and Contraception (SHAC) services. We are doing some work to try and address this, but please do familiarise yourself with the services that are being offered.

Autism Awareness Month:
Autism awareness month falls in April starting on the 2nd April. Stories and understanding are shared to raise awareness and knowledge. Why not complete your disability essential training to do your bit?
Spring Break Support for Students :
We have put together some information for students during the minimum service days: check here. Please also remind students that they can access Togetherall 24/7, for free.
Family Fun Day :
Please come along to the Family Fun Day on Friday 11th April, 10:00am - 2:00pm, at the Woodland Rooms, Student Centre for a free family-friendly event open to all University of Sussex staff and their children. There will be plenty of activities to enjoy, including Arts & Crafts, Games like Giant Jenga and Hook'a'Duck, a Professional Storyteller, a Campus Easter Egg Hunt, a Sensory Room, a Switch Tournament, Face Painting, and a chance to create your own story or have a comic book illustrated of you. We'll also have Mini Graduation Gowns with a Photobooth for a fun photo opportunity. Snacks, pizza, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
Festival of Ideas:
The Sussex Festival of Ideas is a dynamic and engaging programme of events, talks and activities from the Faculty of Media, Arts and Humanities. This platform was developed to connect students, academics and the community to harness the transformative power of the arts and humanities, and its potential for fashioning new ways to think about the past, present and future. This year’s celebration has been curated based on the theme of New Dawn, and we are delighted to share our exciting 2025 lineup.
Now in its fifth year, we are delighted to be running twelve events this spring, spanning across musical expression, political activism, cultural history, the experience of disability and the exploration of the natural world.
The 2025 Festival programme comprises a week of on-campus student-led activities between 8-11 April and seven events showcasing Sussex research as part of the Brighton Festival in May.
