Biography
[p]Sushri Sangita Puhan is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Social Work and Social Care of the School of Education and Social Work. Her research interest covers policy and practice related to children, family, adoption, and narrative research. Her Ph.D. thesis titled "Illuminating the experiences of people with adoption in India: an analysis from the perspective of policy, practice and personal narratives" explores the subjective experiences of young adult adoptees and adoptive parents including single parent and adoptee-cum-adoptive parents to understand how adoption is being used as a legitimate family practice in a changing socio-cultural and political circumstance in India. She was awarded her PhD with an unconditional pass in September 2021.[/p] [p]Her research interests intersect the work of the Centre for Innovation and Research in Childhood and Youth (CIRCY) and the Centre for Social Work Innovation and Research (CSWIR).[/p] [p]Currently, she works as a Lecturer in Social Work at Royal Holloway, University of London.[/p]Role
