Biography

I am a Lecturer in the Economics of Innovation at Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU). Before joining SPRU, I have been working as Assistant Professor at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), where I also got my Ph.D. under the supervision of Uwe Cantner. I am also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Insubria (Italy) and I collaborate with the Center for Studies on Federalism in Turin (Italy). In SPRU, I plan to engage myself in the unique research trajectory on Industrial Innovation initiated by Chris Freeman and Keith Pavitt.

My research profile and interests revolve around the microeconomic analysis of technical change, with a particular emphasis on the so-called 'General Purpose Technologies'. I am also interested in (and working on projects related to) the economics of AI and automation, productivity and industrial dynamics, knowledge spillovers, and in general the modeling of innovative activities.

For what concerns my teaching experience, I have been teaching as Lecturer courses on Microeconomic, Economics of Innovation, Industrial Dynamics, Network Analysis, and I have been the supervisor of more than 100 M.Sc. Theses.
