On Tuesday 02 August, IT Services will be updating the system that authenticates users and devices onto the network.
For the vast majority of users and devices this work is expected to have no impact.
If you connect to 'eduroam' with a username and password, please make sure your device is up-to-date with your operating systems latest patches ahead of Tuesday's maintenance, as some out of date and unsupported operating systems will not be able to connect to eduroam after the maintenance is complete.

If you do not use a username and password to connect to 'eduroam' or the wired network, then this maintenance will not affect you.
Devices running the following operating systems will no longer be able to connect to the network using user and password based authentication after the maintenance is complete:
What do I do if I cannot connect to eduroam after the maintenance?
If you are unable to connect to 'eduroam' using your username and password after the maintenance, it's likely you'll need to update your operating system. Please see instructions above.
If you need to connect to the internet in order to receive these updates then this can be done by connecting to the sussex-ac-uk-wifi-setup wireless network, pressing the green 'Need help?' button and logging in with your university username and password.
The above method will give you access to the internet in order to be able to update your device.
