Install Skype for Business on your own device
Please note, you may have an application called Skype on your device already – the product you need is Skype for Business, which is different.
Install Skype for Business on your computer:
Office 365 users
Office 365 includes Skype for Business but needs to be installed as it is not part of the standard installation. It works with Windows and Mac computers. Office 365 Business is available free of charge to Sussex staff (update: Skype for Business is only available to staff members).
- Login to Office.com from your browser
- From within Office 365 online click on Install Office (if you don't see the Install Office button on the left use the App Launcher grid button on top left and select Office 365)
- Follow onscreen instructions
Non Office 365 environments
- Office Professional Plus 2016 see FAQ 2908
- Mac users can download the software from the Microsoft download page
- Linux users can use Pidgin to access Skype for Business
- Other software go to the Microsoft windows download Skype for Business page and install the appropriate software to match your existing Microsoft Office Installation.
