How do I sort a list alphabetically when using Word?

  1. Select the text in the list
  2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the Sort icon (and A above a Z next to a downward pointing arrow)
  3. In the Sort Text dialog box under Sort by select Paragraphs and as Type select Text.
  4. Select either Ascending or Descending
  5. Click OK
