In Study Direct it is possible to manage your uploaded files by arranging them into folders (for help uploading files please see FAQ 1328 - How do I upload multiple files to my site?). This FAQ will address:
To manage your site’s files and folders first navigate to your Study Direct site and access the Dashboard by clicking the green Dashboard button in the top right hand corner of the page. Next click Files under the Contents menu on the left of the page.
To create a folder first click Create a folder in the centre of the page.
Next type the name of your new folder into the text box provided then click Create.
Your new folder will then appear among the list of folders at the top of your site. You can then add files to your folder either by clicking on the folder and then uploading files within it or by moving existing files into the folder.
First click on the tickboxes next to each of the files that you wish to move into a folder.
Next scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the dropdown menu in the centre of the page. Within the menu click Move to another folder and then click Go.
You will now be prompted to select the folder that you wish to move your files to, click your chosen folder.
Then click Move files to here.
Your files will then appear in your folder. The moved files will now not be visible in the list of files that you moved them from.
First click on the tickboxes next to each of the files that you wish to delete.
Next scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the dropdown menu in the centre of the page. Within the menu click Delete completely and then click Go.
Then click Yes to confirm that you wish to delete the selected file(s).

When renaming your file make sure to keep the file extension at the end of the file name (e.g. .doc for Word documents or .ppt for PowerPoint documents).
A text box will then appear below your file, type the new file name into this text box and then click Rename.
First click on the tickboxes next to each of the files that you wish to archive.
Next scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the dropdown menu in the centre of the page. Within the menu click Create zip archive and then click Go.
Then enter a name for your archive zip file in the text box provided and click Create zip archive.
The archive will then appear as a zip file in your site’s list of files.
To save a copy of this archive to your computer hover over the file with your mouse and click View file in the options which appear on the right hand side. This will download the zip file which you can then save to your computer’s documents.
