Study Direct has a rollover facility. The facility complements the import and the backup-and-restore facilities. It differs because it makes a complete copy of the contents of a site and by doing so reduces the number of options and thus complexity of the other processes.
The rollover will copy site resources and activities and recommended blocks (side bars elements). It will not copy users or user activities or non-recommended site blocks such as the administration block, admin bookmarks, messages, participants, section links, or Sussex library resources.
Rollovers are only possible when editing has not begun on a site. If editing has begun the staff member can still use the import and the backup-and-restore facilities.
This is how rollover works.
When you come to an empty site as an editor you will be given the option to copy another site’s content into this one using the rollover facility. You can proceed with the copy or dismiss it.
You will also be able to select to perform a rollover through the dashboard tools pages. However, once you start editing a site this option will not be available.
Once you have selected to perform a rollover you are presented with a list of sites for which you have editing rights, these sites can be previewed prior to selection. You can only copy sites on which you are an editor.
Once you have selected the site the rollover will be performed in the background. The requester of the rollover will be emailed when it has been successfully completed.
Please note: Once the rollover option has been selected it cannot be cancelled.
