Meet the new Sussex Research Hive Scholars
Sussex Research Hive Scholars: Felipe, 2nd year International Relations; Cathrin, 2nd year Art History; Katherine, 3rd year English
The Research Hive is a dedicated space for doctoral researchers at Sussex. Located on the top floor of the library, the Hive features plenty of desk space, wide screen desktop computers, and two private rooms that you can book for meetings or group work.
More than just another campus workspace, it is a place where you can interact with researchers at all stages of their PhDs, and from all schools and departments on campus! To help support the space and facilitate these interactions, three doctoral researchers have been appointed on a bursary supported by SAGE Publications to serve as Hive Scholars.
As Hive Scholars, we are here to make the Hive as friendly and supportive as we can! Being doctoral researchers ourselves, we try to respond to the needs of the research community by planning both informative and social events throughout the year.
Kicking off this year is the Research Hive Welcome Event on 15th October, which invites new and existing doctoral researchers to meet, have fun, and learn from one another. The event starts at 17:00 at the Research Hive with quick talks by the Hive Scholars and invited guests. From there, we will move to the IDS Bar for drinks. All PhDs are welcome!
