Location of first aid kits and defibrillators
The list below is of fixed, communal first aid kits across campus, managed by the Health & Safety Team. There may be additional kits where Schools or Divisions have identified additional risk which are not managed by the Health & Safety Team.
Refer to the First Aid Kit Inventory spreadsheet for your local first aid kit. You can either filter by building in the campus list (1st tab), or select the tab for your building for the building specific list.
All communal first aid kits have a unique idenitifer number (stated in the inventory spreadsheet above and displated on the kit). This number can be quoted when requesting refills or reporting any issues to your local Health and Safety Coordinator or to healthsafety@sussex.ac.uk as per the replenishment flowchart at the bottom of this page.

A number of defibrillators can be found on campus:
- ACCA (Ground floor - Box office)
- Bramber House- Eat Central (ground floor - kitchen entrance)
- Freeman Centre (main entrance vestibule area)
- JMS (Teaching lab 3B5 - Floor 3)
- Jubilee (Atrium opposite reception - ground floor)
- Library (Reception - ground floor)
- Shawcross (IT Service Desk Reception - ground floor)
- Sports Centre (Reception - ground floor)
- Sports Complex (Reception - ground floor)
- Security Vehicle (Call 01273 87 3333 or ext. 3333)
- MRT Vehicle (Call 01273 87 3333 or ext. 3333)
There are some additional machines which can be used but are not owned by the University:
- CISC
- Falmer Station
- Friston Building (Reception)
- BSMS Research Building (1st Floor stairwell)
Replenishment of First Aid Kits Flowchart
The Health & Safety Team will do an annual review of all communal first aid kits (listed above), First Aiders & Safety Coordinators should do periodic checks throughout the year to confirm kits are full and in good state.
Staff, First Aiders and Safety Coordinators should use the flowchart below during their regular checks of local first aid kits.
