Sussex Innovation Forum 3: Developing local value propositions for net-zero business models

This online event featured a round-up of new initiatives, funding and partnership opportunities for project development in Sussex and an interactive session with Dr Ralitsa Hiteva and Prof. Tim Foxon talking about valuing social and environmental benefits, the potential of Green New Deals and barriers preventing the identification of Net Zero value propositions for business models.
About the Sussex Innovation Forum
The Sussex Innovation Forum is a space for collaboration, exchange and innovation to drive decarbonisation, improve wellbeing and boost economic growth.
By taking part in the Forum, stakeholders will be helping to get sustainable and innovative projects off the ground, help make Greater Brighton carbon neutral by 2030 and improve the wellbeing of local communities.
The Forum will cover topics including:
- Finance innovation for cross-sector and net zero projects
- Scaling up of innovations and pilots
- Innovations on public -private procurement and risk-management
- Innovations for capacity building and cross-sector learning
- Capturing local value from digital platforms and technologies
The Forum is part of the Greater Brighton Energy and Water Plans, an ambitious programme to develop a resilient, smart net-zero carbon energy system that supports a sustainable and healthy economy, environment and society across the Greater Brighton City Region.
The Forum is led by the Science Policy Research Unit in partnership with the University’s Innovation and Business Partnership Team, the University of Brighton’s Green Growth Platform, Brighton and Hove City Council, Community Energy South, Coast to Capital LEP and others.
