Biography

Jason joined the University of Sussex in September 2018, having led digital and technology functions at the Science Museum Group, the Royal Opera House, and in public sector roles, and he has served in numerous Non-Executive Director and Board Advisory positions. He has more than 20 years of technology leadership experience and has been nationally recognised as one of the UK’s most transformational leaders for most of the past decade.

Jason is a Chartered Member and Fellow of the British Computer Society and has a BA (Hons) in Criminology from the University of Lincoln.

As our Chief Digital Transformation Officer, Jason is responsible for Sussex Projects, the project planning and delivery service covering all four portfolio areas (Education & Students, Research, Estates, and IT), and he is the institution’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Jason also performs the Senior Responsible Officer role for many of the large transformation projects underway at Sussex.

Jason is a member of University Executive Team, the University Leadership Team, Senate and the Professional Services Leadership Team.
