Professor Rosie Cox: Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences
Biography
Rosie joined the University of Sussex as Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences in August 2024.
Prior to her arrival at Sussex, Rosie was Head of the School of Social Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London. She began her academic career at Coventry University as a lecturer in Geography, before moving to Birkbeck in 2003. She held a number of leadership roles at Birkbeck including Head of the School of Social Sciences, Deputy Dean, Assistant Dean (Research), Assistant Dean (International) and Head of the Department of Geography.
Rosie’s research focuses on the relationship between home, work, and consumption. She is particularly interested in inequalities in the home, and in domestic work. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Science.
Rosie is a member of the University Executive Team, the University Leadership Team and Senate.
