Job description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Sussex is inviting applications for a fixed term Postdoctoral position in Probability and Combinatorics.
We welcome candidates from these areas broadly, but candidates with an interest in random graphs, branching processes and interacting particles systems are particularly encouraged to apply.
The post is part of a larger project funded by the ESPRC aiming to better understand the geometric and dynamical properties of random graphs with clustering.
The post-holder will work closely with the principal investigator Dr. Minmin Wang, and join the Probability and Statistics research group, a vibrant group currently consisting of 6 permanent members and several early career researchers.
Prospective candidates should hold a PhD in Mathematics, or be in the final stages of writing up their PhD thesis and have submitted by the start date of the position.
Examples of topics that are pertinent to this job include:
- Scaling limit of random discrete objects
- Stochastic coalescent and fragmentation processes
- Contact processes or other related interacting particle systems
