Final-year medical students qualify early to aid coronavirus crisis
Our response to Covid-19
The University is providing as much help as possible to address the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
Our approach
We have established a taskforce to co-ordinate the University’s efforts to tackle the coronavirus in the best way possible. The group will consider requests for support and will help ensure that our resources are directed where they are most needed.
We have created three working groups to begin:
- manufacturing personal protective equipment for NHS staff and other key workers
- helping with national efforts to test for Covid-19
- coordinating coronavirus related research.
The taskforce is chaired by Professor Malcolm Reed, Dean of Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
Regular updates on the work of the taskforce will be provided on these pages and the University’s news pages.
