The Mental Health Practice Unit (MHPU) is a partnership between the School of Psychology at the University of Sussex and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPT). The Unit aims to improve the lives of people with mental health problems by developing evidence for and training practitioners to deliver pioneering psychological care and interventions within health, social care and related services.

The Unit is led by Professor David Fowler (Professor of Clinical Psychology, University of Sussex), Dr Adrian Whittington (Director of Education & Training, SPT) and Dr Mark Hayward (Director of Research, SPT).
