Final Year Research Projects 2012-13

Final Year Projects 2012-13

  1. All Life Sciences degree students* must do a final year project.
BSMS students on an intercalated degree will be expected to select a project as described here.

The research work for your project will be carried out in the Autumn Term (field work may be carried out in the previous summer).  You will give a presentation on your project work at the end of the Autumn term and submit your project report at the beginning of the Spring Term.

    * Except Human Sciences who may choose to do a final year project as an option.

  2. In general a research project involves testing a hypothesis or analysing a research question.  Projects can include:

    - Experimental work e.g. field work, data collection, lab-based research,
    - Analysis of existing data e.g. bioinformatics, data mining, population/behaviour analysis,
    - Extraction and analysis of data and information from published literature.
