fisheries, soil science and agronomy. The Overseas Development
Group (ODG), founded in 1967, is a charitable company wholly
owned by the University of East Anglia, which handles the
consultancy, research, and training undertaken by the faculty
members. The DEV/ODG Livelihoods and Wellbeing Research Group
has done some excellent work using a livelihoods approach
to poverty reduction including on agrarian change, rural household
economics, agricultural policies and farming systems research.
A strong theme has been livelihood diversification and its
implications for strategic thinking about poverty reduction.
Recent research and policy work includes livelihood dimensions
of risk, vulnerability, migration, rural taxation, and poverty
measurement.
