The Institute for Social, Statistical
and Economic Research (ISSER) is based at the University
of Ghana in Legon and has a long track record of research
on regional economic and social issues in West Africa.
The Regional Institute
for Population Studies (RIPS), a former UNFPA-funded
centre also at Legon specialises in the demography of West Africa.
Together, these institutes provide a strong core of trained
researchers with experience of work with a wide range of governmental
and international institutions including the Word Bank, UNECA
and UNDP.
ISSER and RIPS role in the DRC ISSER and RIPS have been closely involved in establishing
the DRC and deciding its research themes. They are working on the
following DRC research projects:
