On this module, you'll examine the dynamics of electoral autocracy, where multiparty elections coexist with autocratic practices. You'll explore how parties organise, communicate, and compete in these contexts while analysing how regimes suppress dissent and opposition movements resist.
Through engagement with primary and secondary sources, you'll investigate cases of electoral autocracy in Africa and beyond,
