This is the module where stuff gets real! You will work in small groups to devise and deliver an arts project. This could mean a performance, exhibition, workshop, talk or event. Drawing on all the skills you have developed so far, you will be responsible for all aspect of the project: coming up with an idea, coordinating with the venue, project management, marketing, and evaluation. You will be supported throughout the process both by Sussex tutors and industry mentors from Brighton Festival. The module culminates with a week-long arts festival on campus providing you with valuable real world experience of working under pressure as part of a team.
Module learning outcomes
- Work as part of a group under pressure and to deadlines.
- Plan, deliver and produce an arts project in a festival context.
- Reflect critically on what they have learnt through this process by evaluating successes and failures in planning, delivering and producing an arts project.
- Understand how to engage professionally with the multiple parties that effective arts production involves.
