This module will equip you with a good understanding of the strategic, operational, human capital and financial issues and theory central to developing an idea into a new business. You will develop your judgement in relation to which business ideas have competitive advantage.
Additionally, you will gain a clear understanding of the numbers in relation to growing an idea successfully into a new venture. You will develop your own business idea through the medium of a business plan, and receive feedback on this in a way that combines theory with a practical, applied perspective.
Module learning outcomes
- Demonstrate a systematic understanding of the knowledge and techniques related to the process of identifying new entrepreneurial opportunities and developing them into business ventures.
- Demonstrate skills instrumental to starting a new business, such as opportunity recognition, market assessment and financial planning.
- Create a business plan for development and financing of new business ventures.
