Module learning outcomes

  • Understand how relevant psychology and organisational behaviour principles can be applied to analyse the interpersonal dynamics among leaders and followers
  • Understand the differences between formal and informal power, and critically evaluate situations under which the different types of power can be drawn on and exercised
  • Develop skills in harnessing the power of influence by assessing the principles learned in the module to practices, such as negotiations and interpersonal interactions
  • Apply the principles learned in the module to inform what leaders can do to bring organisations closer to their strategic direction, whilst considering ethical questions and contexts.
