Chemistry
Advanced Techniques in Experimental Chemistry
Module code: F1801
Level 6
15 credits in autumn semester
Teaching method: Laboratory, Workshop, Lecture
Assessment modes: Coursework
This module will build upon the knowledge and experience of laboratory techniques that you've built up in previous modules.
You'll be introduced to the theory and practical aspects of advanced techniques in the laboratory, with an aim of building employability in STEM.
There will be guided experiments and an opportunity to apply the knowledge gained to solve a problem independently in an original piece of project work.
Module learning outcomes
- Plan and implement a piece of original research in the laboratory.
- Apply current experimental techniques, methods, theories and equipment accurately to a current problem.
- Demonstrate systematic understanding of an area of experimental research and its wider context.
- Communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions by report, contextualising scientific findings.
