Anthropology is:

On this module, you'll work around five core themes considered central to the subject, capturing anthropological thinking on:
- culture, identity and representation
- kinship, self and body
- economy as culture
- religion and politics
- work on the global-local interface.
Module learning outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of core themes in contemporary anthropology
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of the historical development of these themes in anthropology
- Demonstrate an understanding of some key analytical perspectives through which contemporary social and cultural issues are analysed in anthropology
- Demonstrate a critical awareness of how local and global cultures, ideas and practices relate to each other
